Discussion:
Outdated documentation

Hi all,

the HotSpot documentation [1] does not seem up-to-date in some points.
The serviceability site was last updated in 2007 and contains many dead
source code links [2]. It is also strange to see sentences such as "We
are investigating the possibility of ? in JDK 7" when we are already
past this version. The other sites refer to the permanent generation
which was removed in JDK 8.

Could someone with sufficient permission update these parts in the
documentation? If not, it would at least be helpful to place a
disclaimer that the documentation was written for the Java version X and
might be outdated, and remove the dead links.

Is this the right place to send such a request? Should I create a bug
report for this?
